The Chocolate Trian offers a delightful day trip for young families and chocolate/train enthusiasts. Both modern and historic carriage design. Vintage carriages are British Pullman ones dating back to 1915. Modern carriages have large 360 degree windows or the has a forward view.
Departs from the 19th Century resort town of Montreux on Lake Geneva and goes to the small medieval town of Grugeres, renowned for cheese making. Ticket holders are then treated to a tour of a local castle.
Continues onto Broc where a bus will bring passengers to the Cailler – Nestle chocolate factory. Free chocolate at the factory!
Scenic highlights include Lake Grugeres, the Alps and the beautiful wine grape yards.
Complimentary Hot Chocolate/Coffee and free admission to all off board excursions. If rail travellers buy a Swiss Rail Pass, they then only have to pay a small reservation fee. All carriages are first class. Operates May to October
